About the Role

People Operations at Ramp focuses on creating an environment where employees can do their best work. As Ramp expands globally, this role will manage the company's immigration and global mobility functions, overseeing visa cases, employee relocations, and building the necessary infrastructure for international compliance. The position requires a balance of operational rigor and good judgment, with a strong emphasis on genuine care and ownership.

Responsibilities

  • Help shape the strategy for the immigration program, including benchmarking, policy definition, and vendor/counsel management.
  • Expand immigration support to new countries as the company grows.
  • Design and manage a seamless relocation process for employees and their families.
  • Manage end-to-end international relocation cases.
  • Advise People Partners, recruiters, and business leaders on mobility-related questions with practical guidance.
  • Make complex immigration and mobility requirements accessible to employees.
  • Expand the relocation process to new countries as the company grows.
  • Serve as the internal connector across Legal, Finance, Payroll, HRBPs, the business, and immigration counsel to ensure compliant employment in new countries.
  • Own compliance for all countries where Ramp operates, including cross-border remote work, business travel, and international employment classification.
  • Build a playbook for new market entries covering payroll, employment law, immigration, and cultural considerations.
  • Establish international business travel guidelines to prevent visa issues.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience across a sub-set of People Operations, global mobility, immigration, and compliance in a global context.
  • Strong vendor management skills, including managing immigration counsel and relocation partners.
  • Experience building processes from scratch at a scaling company.
  • Autonomy and ownership; take full accountability, follow through on commitments, and ensure tasks are completed.
  • Genuine kindness and compassion; care deeply about the people supported, especially during high-stakes situations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication skills; ability to translate complex situations into plain language.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and a bias toward action balanced with sound judgment on compliance risk.

About the Company

  • Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends.
  • We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
  • The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
  • We hire people with high agency and high urgency.
  • We look for slope over intercept.
  • We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built.
  • At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
  • The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp.
  • We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
  • If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.

Equal Opportunity

  • Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
  • Beware of recruiting scams: Ramp will only contact you through official @Ramp.com email addresses and will never ask for payment or sensitive personal information during the hiring process.
