About the Role
Associate to join the Metals & Mining Corporate Banking team in Sydney. This role supports Australian and Asian Metals & Mining corporate clients, makes informed lending decisions, and contributes to the success of Citi’s Banking franchise.
Responsibilities
- Support Senior Bankers on a portfolio of key corporate clients
- Monitor key market, industry and economics trends and how it influences clients’ strategic objectives and financial needs
- Build and develop client relationships with key stakeholders to support long-term growth of the franchise
- Support pitching activities to deliver cross-sell across Banking, Markets, and Services
- Collaborate with product partners and global teams to deliver integrated solutions to our clients
- Achieve financial objectives by leveraging Citi’s full spectrum of products and services
- Work in partnership with Institutional Credit Management & Underwriting to ensure credit requirements are met
- Act as an escalation point for clients and liaising with internal teams where required to ensure Operations and Product are taking the appropriate steps and responsibility to resolve items raised by the clients
- Ensure continuous adherence to credit, risk and regulatory requirements for Citi's lending activities
- Coordinate with Products teams to ensure appropriate credit limits are in place to support client activities
- Support the co-ordination and execution of day - to - day credit requests from Citi's Global Network Bankers all around the world
Requirements
- Previous experience in a banking setting
- Working knowledge of corporate finance
- Understanding of Metals & Mining client needs across a range of banking products and services
- Develop a strong understanding of Citi’s organizational structure
- Support existing client needs
- Coordinate delivery of Citi’s extensive product suite
- Ensure exceptional client relationship management
- Adhere to all credit, regulatory and internal compliance standards
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate banking, capital markets, advisory or a related financial services role, with a focus on Metals & Mining corporate clients
- Foundational knowledge of corporate finance principles, capital markets, and transaction banking products
- Strong credit analysis skills and a solid understanding of risk management
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Understanding legal documentation such as Loan Agreements and ISDAs
- Track record of supporting the execution of financial transactions, especially lending and capital markets
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop client relationships at a junior level
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with independence and across a diverse team
- Mining technical skills will be seen favourably
