About the Role

This role is responsible for managing financial reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable processes within a leading global sports marketing agency. The position involves ensuring accurate financial data, supporting forecasting, managing vendor and client transactions, and driving process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage year-end, quarter-end, and monthly financial closes in accordance with US GAAP and Corporate Policies, including journals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Prepare Corporate/JCT returns in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Analyze financial data and provide forecasting support for IMG media rights, events management, and Corporate Finance.
  • File withholding tax documents for vendors, clients, and non-residents.
  • Create withholding tax certificates requests to the Local Tax Office for non-resident vendors and clients as required.
  • Maintain the fixed assets listing.
  • Identify trends and determine financial status by analyzing actual results in comparison with forecasts.
  • Manage the day-to-day Accounts Payable process, working with offshore shared services to ensure efficient invoice processing.
  • Support business unit stakeholders on vendor maintenance and payment requests.
  • Create weekly payment proposals and manage tax payments.
  • Manage general banking matters and cashflow forecasting.
  • Monitor and check staff travel expense claims.
  • Manage the day-to-day Accounts Receivable process, working with offshore shared services to ensure adequate collections monitoring and credit control.
  • Manage media rights and events invoicing processes, ensuring accurate billing, timely reconciliation, and alignment with contractual terms and revenue recognition policies.
  • Uphold a strong internal control environment.
  • Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function.
  • Perform other ad hoc tasks as required.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in corporate finance, financial planning & analysis, accounting, or other related fields.
  • Experience in multinational companies preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and financial modelling.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and budgeting/planning tools (e.g., SAP).
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail required.
  • Strong communication skills in Japanese and English.
  • Ability to work independently with remote supervision.
