About the Role
As an Airworthiness Review Engineer, you will investigate the airworthiness status of the Qantas fleet of aircraft through comprehensive review processes. This involves examining aircraft and component records, Maintenance Information System reports, and conducting physical aircraft surveys. Your accurate and timely completion of these reviews will ensure the issuance of Airworthiness Review Certificates, contributing to fleet safety and operational availability. You will also identify airworthiness compliance risks and enhance the systems and processes for managing continuing airworthiness.
Responsibilities
- Investigate the airworthiness status of the Qantas fleet of aircraft via airworthiness review processes.
- Review aircraft/component/maintenance records.
- Review Maintenance Information System reports.
- Carry out Physical Surveys of aircraft.
- Complete review processes with accuracy and to strict deadlines.
- Identify airworthiness compliance risks.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes used to manage continuing airworthiness of aircraft.
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Engineering degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aeronautical or equivalent, as recognised by Engineers Australia.
- Sound knowledge of regulations and standards applicable to aircraft airworthiness.
- Desire to acquire knowledge of the aircraft’s certification basis, structure and systems.
- Accuracy and high level of attention to detail.
- Sound organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise conflicting tasks to meet strict deadlines.
- Collaborative approach and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Strong demonstrated skills in problem solving and analytical thinking, both individually and as part of a team.
- Proven organisational and communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to communicate complex technical information clearly and concisely.
- Professional judgement, attention to detail and the ability to make well-reasoned decisions are critical to success.
