About the Role
Fluidstack is building civilization-scale infrastructure for AI, aiming to deliver 10 to 100s of GWs of compute faster than anyone else. This role is critical in leading the controls design development team to achieve these ambitious goals.
Responsibilities
- Lead the controls design development team, owning template designs, SOOs, points lists, BOMs, and Division 25 specifications.
- Set the technical direction for controls design, establishing standards, platforms, and reference architectures.
- Drive design decisions across mechanical, electrical, commissioning, and construction to ensure project schedules are met.
- Grow the team by hiring controls engineers and improving the quality of design work.
- Own the quality and repeatability of all design packages produced by the team.
- Deliver the controls behind 10s to 100s of GWs of data centers this decade.
- Own real-time load control and MEP and behind-the-meter integration.
- Automate Level 4 and Level 5 commissioning.
- Drive autonomous, robotic deployment.
Requirements
- Led a controls or design engineering team, managing both technical output and personnel.
- Set controls design standards, reference architectures, or specifications used by others across multiple projects.
- Authored or owned Division 25 integrated automation specifications.
- Written sequences of operations and ensured their implementation into working code.
- Made and defended design decisions across mechanical, electrical, and construction stakeholders.
- Hired controls engineers and developed team members' skills.
- Other teams trust the work shipped by your team.
