About the Role
Manages assigned Radiology Services to assure the optimum performance of medical imaging, interventional and therapeutic procedures in accordance with the service and educational missions of the institution.
Responsibilities
- Manages section operations, budget, payroll, inventory, and equipment maintenance oversight to ensure efficient, cost-effective service delivery.
- Recommends and implements equipment, product, and system improvements in alignment with departmental goals.
- Supervises, schedules, and evaluates technical and support staff.
- Ensures compliance with departmental policies and procedures, including staff maintenance of required credentials, competencies, and performance standards.
- Ensures delivery of high-quality imaging services and patient care; Leads quality assurance, audit, and corrective action initiatives.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing standards.
- Supports clinical education programs and integration of students into the clinical environment.
- Maintains professional, technical, and managerial competence through continuing education and professional involvement.
- Builds collaborative relationships with physicians, medical physics, hospital departments, and system partners.
- Addresses customer service concerns and participates in committees and performance improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Must possess current licensure as required by state board where services will be provided: OH: Current license through the Ohio Board of Radiology, WV: Current license through the West Virginia Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Technology Board, PA: No state license is required.
- Registered in imaging modality through ONE of the following boards: American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT).
- Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
- Five (5) years of clinical experience in the radiologic sciences with two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Ability to interact with patients, families and members of the health care team.
- Ability to prioritize and deal with a variety of situations at any given time.
- Ability to differentiate various shades of gray as depicted on a black and white monitor or photograph.
- Stand and walk for up to 8 hours a day.
- Lift, push and pull up to 10 pounds of weight.
- Carry items of up to 20 pounds.
