About the Role
The Transcriptionist will enter patient medical information and documentation into the EPOIC Electronic Medical Record.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate inaccuracies, edit inconsistencies as necessary, and revise without altering meaning the documentation of provider using voice recognition in EPIC Electronic Medical Record.
- Clarify unclear or incomplete documentation and flag reports requiring attention of supervisor or provider.
- Utilize reference materials appropriately to facilitate the accuracy, clarity and completeness of reports.
- Ensure all reports meet department quality assurance expectations such that all reports include patient’s name, medical record number, dates of service, physician initials, transcriptionists initials, date of dictation.
- Comply with policies and procedures related to medicolegal matters: including confidentiality, amendment of medical records, release of information, patients’ rights, medical records as legal evidence, etc.
- Report to work on time, as scheduled.
- Maintain required records and provide reports upon request.
- Provide administrative/clerical/technical support as needed and assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
- One year transcription experience, preferred.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
- Minimum typing speed of 50 words per minute.
Experience Level
- 1 year preferred
Education Level
- High School diploma
Salary/Compensations
- USD $24.88 - USD $33.50 /Hr.
