Responsibilities
- Promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness.
- Act as advocates and health educators for patients, families, and communities.
- Record symptoms, reactions, and progress during direct patient care.
- Assist physicians during treatments and examinations.
- Administer medications.
- Assist in convalescence and rehabilitation.
- Provide quality, age-specific, and culturally sensitive care.
- Implement interventions to ensure patient/family needs are addressed, including physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs.
Requirements
- 1 year clinical experience preferred.
- For OB/GYN department: 2 years clinical OB/GYN experience required.
- Completion of accredited program for Licensed Practical Nursing.
- Current LPN license, ongoing and current BLS.
- Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking.
- Assists with lifting and moving patients.
- Lifts supplies/equipment.
- Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching.
- Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility.
- Routine exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
- Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
- Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
- Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Ability to foster collaborative relationships.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to organize and synthesize new information.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Possesses critical thinking, analytical skills and flexibility.
