About the Role
Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer for its Temporary Works Group. This role involves supporting construction by performing innovative design engineering, including conceptualization, calculations, planning, and risk mitigation to ensure the safety of construction crews. The Temporary Works Group specializes in designing and building temporary structures that add value to Kiewit's projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop drawings and calculations for temporary works and construction methods, including heavy lift plans, erection procedures, evaluation of existing structures, structural analysis for temporary conditions, support of excavation systems, and temporary bridges.
- Perform and/or review calculations and design drawings according to industry codes, standards, client design criteria, and structural theories.
- Ensure the quality and accuracy of design deliverables.
- Identify design risks and assist with risk mitigation planning.
- Assist in project management, including budgets, schedules, quality control, and client coordination.
- Provide on-site design engineering support, conduct on-site inspections, and train/mentor EITs.
Requirements
- Experience with temporary structures and/or construction engineering.
- Professional Engineer licensure or eligibility within the United States.
- Strong academic knowledge of structural engineering.
- Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD, BlueBeam, MathCAD, Navisworks, RISA-3D.
- Experience working in a team setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
- Ability to travel/TDY assignments and/or relocate based on business needs.
- Ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments.
- Regular, reliable attendance.

- Work during normal operating hours and overtime/weekends as required.
