About the Role
IOA is revolutionizing healthcare by enabling seniors to age in place through innovative models that enhance lives, communities, and save healthcare systems money. We challenge the status quo to improve the quality of life for aging adults and adults with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and assistance in participants' residences to ensure safe and comfortable living.
- Assist participants with bathing, personal hygiene, eating, and toileting.
- Perform tasks such as laundry, glucose testing, blood pressure checks, and sample collection.
- Escort and assist clients to and from medical appointments.
- Offer behavioral and emotional support, including reality orientation and adherence to medical/dietary instructions.
- Assist with meal preparation for centers or take-home meals.
- Support special program or participant needs under professional supervision.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in patient care areas.
- Regularly report on participant status and progress to administrative staff.
- Fulfill administrative duties including reporting, record-keeping, and attending meetings.
- Participate in training and orientation of new staff and volunteers.
- Promote positive public relations with participants, families, and the community.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, as the program operates seven days a week.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with older adults (paid or unpaid).
- Ability to lift, transfer, push/pull, maneuver, and reposition 35 lbs.
- Ability to reach, bend, and walk.
- Ability to perform fine motor tasks with hands.
- Ability to comprehend complex written materials and verbal instructions.
- Ability to communicate and speak clearly in English.
