About the Role
The Bid Manager will provide bid leadership and support for capture and bids for the Sovereign Space Programmes team in the Eastern Hemisphere, generating competitive, compliant, and compelling proposals and bid submissions. This role involves owning and implementing the end-to-end company standard bid process, managing cross-functional bid teams, and leading internal business case generation with stakeholder management.
Responsibilities
- Lead highly cross-functional bid team with SMEs across technical, commercial, finance and legal towards a winning bid/proposal, and negotiations through to contract.
- Develop compelling bid content including executive summaries, value propositions, pricing models, technical responses, etc. working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs).
- Independently lead small to medium bids with oversight, ensuring timely, high-quality proposals and support Sovereign Space Programmes Director in large complex capture and bids.
- Develop industry standard (e.g. Shipleys) methods for bids/capture including stakeholder maps, win themes, competitor landscape, compliance matrices, etc. and conduct win workshops, bid reviews, black hats, post-bid analysis and debrief sessions.
- Implement company standard bid process and bid discipline throughout the bid lifecycle.
- Develop internal business case material and presentations and stakeholder engagement.
- Support the Sovereign Space Programmes Director in maintaining pipeline and knowledge of the APAC space market and emerging customer requirements.
- Lead and/or support negotiations with potential Customers.
Requirements
- 10+ years’ experience in bid management, ideally working within SATCOM / Defence / PNT / space or technology sectors.
- Proven experience in managing end-to-end bid process, including proposal writing, presentation development, bid collateral, win workshops, competition workshops, black hats, bid reviews, etc. and negotiations.
- Knowledge and experience of working with industry standard Bid/Capture management processes e.g. Shipleys and implementation of bid discipline and governance.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and influence stakeholders at various levels.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Good commercial understanding of contracts and pricing
- Highly organised, detail oriented, self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills.
- Critical thinking, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Flexible / resourceful approach, independent problem solver.
- Confident and articulate with senior leaders.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office packages including MS Visio, MS Project and SharePoint.
- Eligible to achieve Security Clearance - NV1.
