About the Role
The Adults & Public Health Directorate is seeking a Team Leader to develop a high-quality care unit responsive to service user needs. This role involves management support for care staff and the day-to-day running of residential services, fostering user development and community integration.
Responsibilities
- Provide management support to residential support workers, care assistants, domestics, and cooks.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations and supervision of residential, respite, or supported living schemes.
- Create an environment that encourages service users to develop skills and reach their full potential.
- Ensure individuals are integrated into the community.
- Provide direct care to service users.
- Offer leadership on shift for staff.
- Assist the Registered Manager in performance management.
- Plan, monitor, and supervise care staff.
- Support care staff in formulating care plans and risk assessments.
- Assist with the management and implementation of staff rotas.
Requirements
- Knowledge of the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and its application.
- Understanding of Community Care Legislation and its implications.
- Ability to effectively utilize all resources, including staff and budgets.
- Capacity to plan, organize, and monitor the work of a diverse staff team.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments for the service, staff, and service users.
- Understanding of the developmental needs of adults with severe learning disabilities.
- Ability to chair and minute meetings.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working with adults with disabilities.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience working at RSW level or a similar position.
- 2 years of experience providing services to individuals with severe learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, or challenging needs.
