About the Role

Join Caytons, Gallagher Bassett’s in-house law firm, as an experienced Claims Handler - Professional Indemnity. This remote role offers the opportunity to manage a varied caseload, primarily focused on Professional Indemnity claims and exposure to areas like Drivers’ Negligence, across diverse professions. You will handle claims for construction, architects, surveyors, engineers, solicitors, accountants, brokers, and insurers, providing technical challenges and scope for progression.

Responsibilities

Manage and progress claims to resolution in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Review and interpret policy coverage, applying insurer claims philosophies.
Work within delegated authority and refer matters outside of authority as required.
Apply a fair and consistent approach to indemnity and liability decisions.
Support the delivery of SLAs and KPIs across the portfolio.
Maintain high-quality file notes and accurate management information (MI).
Assist with bordereaux reporting and general claims administration.
Collaborate closely with the admin team to ensure efficient file progression.

Requirements

Proven experience managing Professional Indemnity claims.
Experience working under delegated authority with a strong understanding of referral processes.
Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on high-quality file management and documentation.
Strong organizational, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
A proactive, client-focused approach with excellent communication skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
