About the Role

The Firmware Technical Program Manager will lead the management and execution of server platform programs firmware development, issue investigation, and validation efforts throughout the product lifecycle. This role drives firmware and software design and development from specification definition to implementation, and enables OEM/ODM partners for customization, production readiness, and deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with AMD system and functional TPMs to translate product specifications into program firmware deliverables.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop and introduce products against system level schedule for meeting critical phase exit criteria and TTM objectives.
  • Lead requirement definition planning, development, and launch.
  • Manage BIOS/BMC feature implementation plan based on the product specification, and drive feature enhancements, quality improvement support, and transition from validation test software into scripted test tools.
  • Work with security architects, firmware teams, and customers regarding security requirement feature development, security enablement, and deployment flows.
  • Support the execution of firmware validation progress against development schedule, including test case enhancement, data collection and analysis, diagnostics tools, and vendor management for failure analysis.
  • Ensure the product firmware solution design supports manufacturability, reliability, and serviceability.
  • Lead BKC Release Note Management, including authoring, reviewing, and maintaining firmware release notes aligned to BKC milestones; coordinate with teams for accurate and timely publication of release documentation.
  • Drive cross-domain technical errata list review and consolidation, facilitating structured review cycles to identify, categorize, prioritize, and resolve errata items; maintain a consolidated errata repository and communicate status.
  • Serve as the central coordination point for cross-functional technical readiness reviews, ensuring BKC release criteria and errata resolution milestones are met before product phase exits and customer deployments.

Requirements

  • Must be a technically strong, self-driven technical program manager with a deep understanding of firmware.
  • Ideal candidate is a collaborative leader who can work across hardware, firmware, and operations teams to drive execution and deliver data-based results in fast-paced environments.
  • Drive AMD product solution deliverables and alignment with customers’ platforms to ensure highest level customer satisfaction throughout their product lifecycle.
  • Experience managing BKC release documentation and firmware release notes in a server platform environment.
  • Familiarity with errata tracking systems and cross-domain errata consolidation processes across hardware, firmware, and software domains.
