About the Role
This role sits at the heart of our evolving Product function, aiming to bring customers closer to product-shaping teams, clarify accountabilities, and simplify our structure for ambitious initiatives. As Chapter Lead – Product Management, you will provide clear development pathways for Product Managers and enable coordinated resource planning, advancing Telstra Health's vision of connected and improved digital health experiences. You will lead a growing community of Product Managers, drive innovation, and ensure our Product Management capability remains competitive, consistent, and aligned with the Connected Horizon 30 strategy. Approximately 30% of your time will be hands-on as a Product Manager, owning a product area to keep your instincts sharp and leadership grounded.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Chapter by coaching, developing, and growing a high-performing community of Product Managers, building capability and a desirable culture.
- Set the standard by establishing best practices in product strategy, governance, and decision-making to drive consistency and quality across the portfolio.
- Spend approximately 30% of your time hands-on as a Product Manager, owning a product area and staying grounded in customer work.
- Partner across the business with the Technology function and new Chapter leaders to align capability with demand and enable product outcomes.
- Own performance and growth by managing Chapter workforce planning, budget, and KPIs, driving continuous improvement and clear career pathways.
Requirements
- Proven people leader with experience leading Product Management teams of 20+ in complex organizations, growing capability through others.
- Culture builder known for coaching, mentoring, and lifting those around you to create inclusive, high-performing teams.
- Practice shaper with experience establishing or evolving Product practices and embedding consistency at scale.
- Confident influencer adept at navigating matrix structures and partnering across business, technology, and executive audiences.
- Hands-on strategist comfortable with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery.
- Proficient with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools.
