Responsibilities
- Teach a rigorous college preparatory curriculum aligned with school and New York State standards.
- Deliver high-quality and engaging instruction to students.
- Commit to continuous professional and personal growth through teamwork.
- Utilize data to inform instructional decisions.
- Regularly assess student progress and communicate findings to families and colleagues.
- Provide individualized or small group instruction to students needing extra support.
- Model a 'whatever it takes' attitude to ensure student success.
- Embody school values in all interactions with students, families, and staff.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills contributing to a collegial environment.
- Possess character traits: zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
- At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
- New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Demonstrated success in improving student achievement, particularly for students from the communities KIPP NYC serves.
- Must notify HR of any relocation or plans to relocate.
- Must not require visa sponsorship or work authorization.
