About the Role

KIPP NYC is seeking passionate teachers who can inspire and educate students, fostering both academic and character development to prepare them for college, career, and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Teach a rigorous college preparatory curriculum aligned with school and New York State standards.
• Deliver high-quality and engaging instruction to students.
• Commit to continuous professional and personal growth through teamwork.
• Utilize data to inform instructional decisions.
• Regularly assess student progress and communicate findings to families and colleagues.
• Provide individualized or small group instruction to students needing extra support.
• Model a 'whatever it takes' attitude to ensure student success.
• Embody school values in all interactions with students, families, and staff.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills contributing to a collegial environment.
• Possess character traits: zest, grit, hope, love, social intelligence, gratitude, and a sense of humor.
• At least two years of teaching experience is strongly preferred.
• New York State teacher certification in the appropriate content area.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Demonstrated success in improving student achievement, particularly for students from the communities KIPP NYC serves.
• Must notify HR of any relocation or plans to relocate.
• Must not require visa sponsorship or work authorization.
