About the Role

There are two Policy Officer roles available in the Health and Care Policy team, focusing on shaping the future of the UK's health and social care system. One role will cover a range of thematic areas, while the other will initially focus on technology and AI. Responsibilities include supporting policy analysis and research, scoping and developing ideas for commissioned research, synthesizing evidence, analyzing policy documents, conducting qualitative research, writing publications, and organizing events to inform and influence decision-making.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with a range of high-profile policy projects, including project planning and development, and helping with analysis, writing and publication.
  • Contributing to literature reviews and rapid scans of data and evidence; producing summaries of the main findings and implications for policy.
  • Supporting policy research, working with internal and external partners and assisting with written outputs.
  • Assisting with communicating the findings of our work to a range of audiences, including policymakers, academics and the media.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders relevant to our policy portfolio.
  • Supporting the design and delivery of workshops or other events with policymakers and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative research evidence.
  • Experience analyzing policy documents and grey literature.
  • Proficiency in qualitative methods such as key informant interviews and thematic analysis.
  • Experience writing and contributing to external publications, including briefings, blogs, and reports.
  • Experience supporting teams in organizing events, meetings, and workshops to inform and influence thinking and decisions.
