About the Role
A Direct Support Professional in the WOW program helps promote independence and self-esteem to persons with disabilities by accompanying them into the community on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- Accompany individuals into the community on a daily basis.
- Promote independence and self-esteem to persons with disabilities.
- Participate in a variety of group activities throughout the day at a site or in the community.
- Interact with individuals in a positive and encouraging way.
- Introduce individuals to community-based and site-based activities that inspire growth.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid NYS license and clean driving record.
- Able to use email, Google Suite, and database systems.
- Daily access to a vehicle.
- Ability to pass SCIP/CPR.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
