About the Role
A Day Services DSP builds independence and community inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities through structured life-skills training and community outings.
Responsibilities
- Provide site and community-based work.
- Build independence and community inclusion for individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Provide structured life-skills training.
- Accompany individuals on community outings.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid NYS license and clean driving record.
- Ability to drive and maintain a driving record acceptable for agency insurance coverage.
- Daily access to a vehicle.
- Ability to pass SCIP/CPR.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Skills
- Computer Skills: able to use email; google suite; database systems.
- Ability to interact with individuals in a positive and encouraging way.
- Professional manner, patience, empathy.
- Strong desire to help others.
- Interest in taking an active role by introducing individuals to community-based and site-based activities that inspire growth.
