About the Role
The Quality Management Specialist facilitates Quality Management/Performance Improvement programs, monitors activities to ensure quality, and collaborates on initiatives to ensure care delivery and services meet the highest standards.
Responsibilities
- Utilize quality improvement methodologies (PDSA, Six-Sigma, Lean) to assist business owners in driving quality improvement initiatives.
- Use clinical judgment to identify deviations in clinical standards of care delivery.
- Serve as liaison between PACE sites, department leaders, medical directors, and Quality.
- Conduct root cause analyses for Level 2 Incidents and implement evidence-based interventions.
- Monitor and investigate potential quality of care incidents, collaborating on impact and action steps.
- Conduct monthly internal monitoring and audits to identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Participate in site/center preparation and execution of audit readiness for regulatory and accreditation agencies.
- Collect, summarize, and analyze performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support Quality committees; facilitate and participate in Quality committees and workgroups.
- Investigate and incorporate national best practice interventions for greater improvements.
- Draw conclusions from data analysis to initiate and facilitate performance improvement projects.
- Maintain working knowledge of regulatory requirements related to quality for health plans and care delivery products.
- Identify and escalate urgent quality and operational matters.
- Conduct, analyze, and report results of quality audits.
Requirements
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying education levels and organizational positions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to create informative and engaging presentations using PowerPoint or other presentation programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Teams, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to utilize data management systems to pull and analyze information for conclusions and recommendations.
- Experience working with diverse departments (clinical and non-clinical) and influencing others for buy-in on quality improvement initiatives.
- Ability to sustain specific physical requirements including standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, squatting, maneuvering stairs, walking, climbing, agility, fine motor skills, adequate sight, hearing, and cognitive ability for decision-making and analysis.
