About the Role

The Data & Statistics Function strengthens the Federal Reserve System’s ability to support supervision, monetary policy, and financial stability by modernizing how financial data is collected, governed, and transformed into insight. You'll join the Data Collection & Reporting Department's Treasury team, responsible for collecting and analyzing Treasury International Capital (TIC) data from U.S. financial institutions. Your work will directly involve partnering with major financial institutions to ensure data integrity, conducting deep-dive analysis, and building analytical products that serve stakeholders across the Federal Reserve System.

Responsibilities

  • Support data quality excellence by analyzing financial datasets and identifying anomalies and trends.
  • Assist in developing inquiries to resolve data integrity issues.
  • Manage data collection operations, ensuring timely receipt of submissions and monitoring schedules.
  • Resolve technical submission issues with reporting institutions.
  • Maintain operational controls for consistent data flows.
  • Partner with financial institutions to enhance data quality and resolve reporting issues.
  • Provide guidance on technical reporting requirements and submission processes.
  • Analyze data sources and institutional relationships to support policy decisions and operational improvements.
  • Participate in automation initiatives and emerging technology solutions.
  • Research and resolve reporting inquiries and technical issues, proposing conclusions based on regulatory guidance.
  • Respond to stakeholder requests on data collection operations and institutional reporting practices.
  • Participate in Function and System workgroups, sharing insights and supporting initiatives.

Requirements

  • Understanding or interest in financial markets and products, regulatory reporting, or analytical work involving large and complex datasets.
  • Understanding of U.S. and global capital and money market's structure and products.
  • Solutions oriented with an eagerness to learn and grow.
  • Ability to provide efficient and accurate verbal and written analysis.
  • Proficient skill set including the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point).
  • Familiarity with or interest in Python, SQL, R, or similar programming languages.
  • Curiosity about analytical innovation and eagerness to learn and apply emerging technologies, including AI-enabled tools.
  • Must possess a proficient skill set including the MS Office suite such as: Excel, Word, Power Point.
  • This position requires access to confidential supervisory information (CSI) and/or Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) information.
  • All non-U.S. citizens authorized to access CSI and/or FOMC information must sign a declaration of intent to expeditiously become a lawful permanent resident and thereafter a U.S. citizen when eligible.
