About the Role
Thornton Tomasetti is seeking a strategic and experienced HRIS Manager to lead the governance, roadmap, and continuous evolution of our global HR technology ecosystem. This position is responsible for maximizing the value of Workday and other HR technologies that support more than 2,300 employees across North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. The HRIS Manager owns the product strategy, governance framework, vendor management, and global roadmap.
Responsibilities
- Own the global Workday product roadmap across all modules, prioritizing enhancements, releases, and strategic initiatives.
- Develop a multi-year HR technology strategy aligned with business growth and digital transformation objectives.
- Evaluate emerging HR technologies and AI solutions that improve operational efficiency and employee experience.
- Build business cases for new technology investments.
- Establish governance processes for Workday enhancements, releases, testing, and prioritization.
- Approve significant configuration changes that impact global compliance, security, integrations, and statutory reporting.
- Define system standards, design principles, and governance policies.
- Lead release planning and executive prioritization.
- Manage relationships with Workday implementation partners, consulting firms, and HR technology vendors.
- Lead vendor selection, contract management, performance reviews, and service delivery.
- Ensure vendors meet project timelines, quality expectations, and budget commitments.
- Establish global HR data governance standards.
- Define security and privacy policies supporting GDPR, International data privacy regulations, and Country-specific statutory requirements.
- Partner with IT Security to ensure compliance with internal security standards.
- Evaluate automation opportunities across HR Operations.
- Lead AI governance for HR technology initiatives.
- Prioritize automation projects that improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
- Partner with HR leadership to modernize business processes.
- Lead enterprise HR technology initiatives including Workday optimization, Learning initiatives, New module implementations, Global process standardization, Payroll and benefit integrations, and Data migration initiatives.
- Develop HR technology KPIs and adoption metrics.
- Monitor system utilization and user experience.
- Recommend process improvements using data-driven insights.
- Present technology roadmap updates to executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive HRIS experience.
- 5+ years administering or leading Workday in a global organization.
- Experience managing enterprise HR technology projects.
- Strong understanding of Workday HCM, Workday Learning, and Workday Integrations.
- Experience leading vendor relationships.
- Knowledge of HR data governance and security.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation skills.
- Workday Pro Certification.
- Experience with digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience evaluating or implementing AI-enabled HR technologies.
- Knowledge of Workday Payroll, Recruiting, Talent, Compensation, Benefits, and Reporting.
- Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
- A strategic thinker who can balance long-term vision with operational execution.
- Comfortable influencing senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders.
