About the Role

Petco is seeking a leader to develop and mature the enterprise data governance operating model, aligning it with the Business Intelligence & Data Science organization's objectives. This role will oversee enterprise reporting, drive a self-service data culture, and manage a team of analysts, ensuring data compliance and fostering continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature the enterprise data governance operating model, aligning it with the Business Intelligence & Data Science organization.
• Define, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for data quality, completeness, and compliance across all business domains.
• Chair the Data Stewardship working group, collaborating with cross-functional leaders in e-commerce, merchandising, supply chain, and marketing.
• Oversee the lifecycle of enterprise reporting, ensuring business users have access to timely, accurate, and intuitive dashboards.
• Partner with Data Engineering and Data Science to ensure the architecture supports scalable reporting and advanced analytics requirements.
• Drive the adoption of a "self-service" data culture by delivering comprehensive training and governed data sets to business stakeholders.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of Reporting & Data Governance Analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
• Lead change management efforts regarding data policies, ensuring front-line leaders and business partners understand and embrace new data processes.
• Ensure data handling and reporting practices comply with relevant data privacy regulations (e.g., CCPA, GDPR) in partnership with Legal and InfoSec teams.

Requirements

• 5-7+ years of progressive experience in business intelligence, data governance, or data management.
• At least 2 years in a leadership or people-management role.
• Omnichannel retail experience is highly preferred.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proven ability to drive organizational change.
• Proven ability to translate executive vision into operational processes.
• Proven ability to advocate for data literacy across a large enterprise.
