About the Role
The Robert Rauschenberg Curatorial Fellowship is a 12-month position offering a comprehensive introduction to curatorial work for a young professional committed to the museum field and artists of African descent. The fellow will support the Associate Curator with exhibition research, writing, production, and logistical coordination, while also developing workflows and schedules for diverse programming. This fellowship provides an opportunity to join a cohort of fellows, interact with internal departments, and connect with external partners.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Associate Curator with producing didactic texts and research for exhibition-related publications.
- Support with exhibition proposals, develop exhibition schedules, and maintain production deadlines.
- Coordinate studio visits and assist with related artist research.
- Provide organizational, administrative, and project support for exhibitions and collections.
- Contribute research and writing for Studio magazine and the Museum’s website and social media platforms.
- Assist with coordinating activities with other Museum departments to support the Museum’s mission.
- Assist with special projects as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong background in mid-twentieth century and contemporary art by artists of African descent.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud.
- Familiarity with The Museum System (TMS/TMS Collections) and NetX.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility in adjusting to shifting priorities with a proven ability to meet multiple deadlines.

Salary/Compensations
- $50,000 annually, based on a 35 hour work week
