About the Role
This field-based role focuses on executing brand strategy and tactics to maximize sales performance within an assigned territory. The position requires building strong customer relationships and solving customer needs while prioritizing the patient and adhering to company policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, and financial targets to meet or exceed objectives.
- Create pre-call plans and execute post-call evaluations to improve sales performance.
- Handle objections and gain calls to action to close sales.
- Proactively serve customer needs and expectations to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements.
- Develop and execute a call plan to optimize coverage and frequency to key customers.
- Build understanding of customer needs, market landscape, competitors, and market dynamics.
- Share market intelligence with in-field teams, brand teams, and sales managers.
- Differentiate AbbVie's value proposition with assigned health providers.
- Identify and develop disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant and equivalent industry experience required.
- At least five (5) years of relevant and equivalent industry experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree, with three (3) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred and a high school diploma/GED required.
- Proven track record of leadership success and solid presentation skills.
- Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools.
- Possesses strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
- Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach.
- Operates effectively in a matrix environment.
- Proven track record of success in sales performance within respective therapeutic areas (preferred).
- Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience such as physician/account based selling, training, managed health care or marketing (preferred).
- Demonstrates in-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge and is recognized as an expert resource (preferred).
- English language proficiency verbally and in writing (for all non-English speaking countries) (preferred).
- Satisfy all applicable healthcare industry representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
