About the Role
As a Test Engineer with test automation experience, you will play a key role in testing and evaluating software, firmware, hardware, and systems applications. You will apply automated verification procedures for developed or improved firmware/hardware monitoring devices, working with technologies ranging from application software on Linux to hardware abstraction, firmware, FPGA, and HW. This role requires interaction with developers, designers, manufacturing test engineers, field service, support teams, and global engineering peers, demanding outstanding communication skills and a high level of energy to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented product development environment. You will use, update, modify, or design test automation tools for product improvements and work closely with a team using Agile development methods and the Scrum Framework.
Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and document formal test plans and procedures using tools.
- Execute test plans and record results, generating/updating a known issues database.
- Coordinate and review results validity with Product Specialists.
- Test and record any non-compliance in the defect tracking database, JIRA.
- Collaborate with developers to reproduce and investigate issues.
- Automate the majority of test plans.
- Verify that all acceptance criteria are met per product specification.
- Analyze issues and identify alternative solutions or workarounds.
- Ensure all features, issues, and tests are documented in compliance with internal processes.
- Perform debug and troubleshooting; lead Root Cause Corrective Action investigations and track corrective actions to ensure defect resolution.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or similar degree.
- 3+ years of Test Automation experience with testing software, firmware, and hardware.
- Experience with scripting languages (Python or similar).
- Experience designing and qualifying test fixtures during the development phase.
- Experience with test instrumentation (i.e., temperature, flow, pressure, low voltage analog, function generators, scopes).
