About the Role

Arms Acres in Carmel, NY Inpatient is seeking individuals for their Security Department in Admissions. The Security Officers are responsible for providing and maintaining a safe and secure environment for Arms Acres patients, employees and visitors according to facility policies and licensing guidelines. Investigates and provides written reports on action taken on complaints and disturbances. Security Officer secures the buildings and equipment from loss or abuse.

Responsibilities

Examine and observe all doors and windows to ensure they are locked and free from obstructions.
Lock and unlock all doors according to the established time schedule.
Respond to alarms indicating unauthorized door openings.
Assist Clinical Department and Nursing Units associates in controlling combative patients.
Call local law enforcement agencies as required.
Maintain a log of all requests, actions taken, and incidents affecting safety or security.
Monitor fire alarms and follow established procedures.
Provide a detailed report of areas checked, calls for service, and safety/security policy infractions at the end of each shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Prior training in security or law enforcement.
Valid Driver's License.
Fluently read and write English with the ability to understand and execute verbal instructions.
New York State Security Guard License.
Ability to satisfactorily pass a background check.
Knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures.
Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
