About the Role
Slash is seeking a Technical Writer to be the voice of their engineering team, transforming complex technical information into engaging content for engineers. This role requires a blend of technical understanding and sharp writing skills to document the company's innovative work.
Responsibilities
- Own the engineering blog from concept to publication.
- Translate engineer and founder ideas into polished blog posts, technical deep dives, launch write-ups, and social content.
- Facilitate content creation for engineers lacking time, enhancing their initial ideas.
- Develop strategic social media posting plans to amplify key work.
- Proactively identify and pursue compelling stories within the engineering team.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and design to ensure technical accuracy and compelling content.
Requirements
- Possess a genuine understanding of technical work, including systems, tradeoffs, and architecture.
- Demonstrate clear writing with a distinct point of view, capable of refining engineer's ideas into publishable content.
- Write effectively for an engineering audience, focusing on clarity and conciseness.
- Thrive in an independent, fast-paced team environment, proactively seeking out stories.
- Have a background in engineering, Computer Science, or significant technical writing experience.
- Experience writing technical content that engineers have shared (blog, docs, newsletter, etc.) is a plus.
