About the Role
As an Armed Security Officer supporting a public transportation location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and assist visitors, employees, and the public with professionalism. You will respond to situations with sound judgment, communicate clearly, and contribute to a welcoming environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, transit riders, and members of the public by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of public transportation facilities, offices, platforms, parking areas, and surrounding perimeters to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with established procedures, and assist with directing individuals to appropriate services or locations.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; document observations and notify appropriate personnel as directed.
- Maintain a visible presence throughout assigned government transportation locations to help deter unauthorized activity and support an orderly environment.
Requirements
- Have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Have at least one year of security-related experience.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Skills
- Pepper spray certification is preferred.
