About the Role

Restaurant Associates is the industry's leading provider of dining and event catering for prestigious museums, performing arts centers, and corporations. We are seeking a Waiter/Waitress to join our team.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and take food and beverage orders efficiently.
• Deliver food promptly and professionally, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
• Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advising guests and accommodating requests.
• Communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and special requests.
• Exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
• Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
• Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
• Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information.
• Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to supervisors.
• Ensure the dining room is properly set up and clean according to sanitation standards.
• Operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, beverage machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
• Collaborate with staff from other departments for special events and functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous serving experience is required.
• Must abide by all Company policies and procedures.
• Use of medium weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
• Use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans.
• Use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
• Qualified candidates must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
