About the Role
Restaurant Associates is the industry's leading provider of dining and event catering for prestigious museums, performing arts centers, and corporations. We are seeking a Waiter/Waitress to join our team.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and take food and beverage orders efficiently.
- Deliver food promptly and professionally, maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards.
- Demonstrate complete understanding of menu items and ingredients, advising guests and accommodating requests.
- Communicate with back-of-the-house staff to ensure order accuracy and special requests.
- Exhibit exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate with others.
- Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
- Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
- Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information.
- Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to supervisors.
- Ensure the dining room is properly set up and clean according to sanitation standards.
- Operate various equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, beverage machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
- Collaborate with staff from other departments for special events and functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous serving experience is required.
- Must abide by all Company policies and procedures.
- Use of medium weight cut gloves when handling knives, peelers, choppers, mandolins or cleaning a slicer.
- Use of oven mitts, fryer gloves or steamer gloves when handling hot pans.
- Use of slip-resistant shoes and proper lifting techniques.
- Qualified candidates must be able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
