About the Role
The Licensed B1 Mechanical Inspector is responsible for ensuring compliance with maintenance, inspection, and legislative standards as specified by UKCAA and the Quality and Airworthiness Manager. This role involves certifying maintenance tasks, inspecting aircraft, and managing manpower resources when requested.
Responsibilities
- Act as an inspector in support of a specific aircraft, line, or base maintenance input in accordance with MOE Part 145.
- Perform the day-to-day duties and responsibilities of a Licensed Mechanical Senior Inspector when requested.
- Manage manpower resources, including licensed mechanical and avionics inspectors and fitters, assigned to a specific aircraft line or base maintenance input when requested.
- Certify tasks that have been trained on and authorized to perform.
- Inspect and certify at Farnborough main base and other locations worldwide.
- Carry out any other maintenance tasks requested by the Maintenance Team Leader.
- Perform Category ‘C’ Certification for those qualified in accordance with MOE Part 34 for base maintenance.
- Promote and ensure aircraft line or base maintenance commitments are fulfilled within the assigned timescale.
- Inform the Maintenance Team Leader and Service Team Manager of any delays as soon as possible.
- Promote and ensure all aircraft maintenance documentation relevant to personally performed or supervised work is completed fully before the end of each shift.
- Understand and share the strategic position of the department in relation to Product Support.
- Advise the STM of any difficulties or shortcomings experienced.
- Maintain awareness and understanding of departmental measures for monitoring goals, product delivery, and quality.
- Maintain personal and departmental husbandry to ensure continued department success.
- Ensure handovers are carried out as required to ensure work flow.
- Attend Stand-up Board meetings as required to roll out performance communications and discussions.
- Perform other duties as delegated by the STM or Department Manager.
- Promote and ensure the quality of workmanship in the final product is acceptable to the UKCAA.
- Comply with statutory and company standards for all maintenance and design change work on aircraft and/or components.
- Ensure correct and adequate standards of cleanliness and tidiness for the work in hand.
Requirements
- Licensed Mechanical Inspector - Nights (FAR)
- Other Aircraft Maintenance License with relevant aircraft Type Ratings required.
- Certification experience within a part 145 organization.
- Extensive combination of line & base maintenance experience.
- Evidence of aircraft inspection and certification experience gained.
- Experience within the corporate industry is an advantage.
- Good working knowledge of Aviation Legislation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Good practical computer user skills.
- Flexible approach to working patterns.
- Able to demonstrate a well-organized approach to daily job tasks.
- Gulfstream does not provide work visa sponsorship for this position, unless the applicant is a currently sponsored Gulfstream employee.
