About the Role

This Individual Contributor position leads key optimization and standardization efforts, leveraging ERP and various Business Systems to improve efficiency. The role involves estimation, requirements analysis, testing, training, and IT project leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead key optimization and standardization efforts.
  • Leverage ERP and various Business Systems functionality and integrate them into business processes.
  • Estimate effort, identify, analyze, and document requirements.
  • Develop and execute testing plans.
  • Prepare training documentation and conduct end-user training.
  • Lead IT projects.
  • Mentor team members.
  • Actively participate in all aspects of the SDLC process.
  • Lead opportunities for improvement within IT processes.
  • Collaborate across the Global IT organization.
  • Provide leadership in utilization of Information Technology within Valmont as a trusted advisor.
  • Continuously monitor industry trends, standards, and technologies.
  • Recommend and apply new technologies.
  • Follow company policies, procedures, and best practices.

  • Lead the development of high-level estimations of effort/cost.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify, analyze, and document functional business requirements.
  • Collaborate with the technical team to develop overall solutions and technical design.
  • Review and validate testing plans and conduct functional user testing.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing with business stakeholders.
  • Review documentation and conduct training of end users/stakeholders.
  • Lead small to moderate, cross-functional projects.
  • Perform support activities based on escalation from the support team.
  • Write and review supporting documentation for the software.
  • Make recommendations for process improvements within both the business and IT organizations.
  • Mentor other functional analyst team members.

Requirements

  • Preferred Bachelors with 6+ years relevant experience or Associates Degree with 8+ years relevant experience or 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Understanding of overall enterprise business systems architecture, functionality, and usage.
  • Understanding of project management principles.
  • Ability to conduct and direct research into enterprise business systems application functionality and products.
  • Understanding of manufacturing principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite products.
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) in English.
  • Proven analytical and evaluative abilities.
  • High level of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in problem solving situations.
  • Good planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong leadership skills.
