About the Role

Assist the Contractor Special Security Officer (CSSO) in the management of security facilities as set forth in various national security program manuals and directives.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the CSSO in performing personnel security administrative tasks, including coordinating and submitting access requests, maintaining personnel files, making required reports, maintaining access rosters, coordinating visitors and meetings, executing room attendant duties, and serving as an authorized entry investigator.
  • Perform administrative functions for the maintenance of special programs, including auditing and monitoring local security policy, conducting self-inspections, responding to sponsor inquiries, reviewing documents for accuracy, assisting PIs with security administrative requirements, and administering security education, training, and awareness programs.
  • Assist the CSSO in performing information security administrative tasks, including document control, security log maintenance and file retention, incident investigation and reporting, CDRL tracking and management, and standard operating procedure monitoring and enforcement.
  • Assist the CSSO in performing physical/technical security administrative tasks, including maintaining access lists, coordinating alarm response and investigation, performing random inspections, and coordinating alarm testing and maintenance.
  • Perform other related functions as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Seven years of administrative experience.
  • Strong communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • US Citizen.
  • Applicant selected will be subject to government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Employment will be contingent on submitting an application for access and receiving notification of eligibility within a specified time period.
  • Employment must begin within 30 days of confirmation of eligibility.
  • Eligibility for access to all levels of classified information must continue without interruption during employment.
  • Successful completion of security polygraph examination(s) as required.

Experience Level

  • Seven years of administrative experience
  • Two years providing administrative security support in a classified Department of Defense (DoD), special access program (SAP), and/or sensitive compartmented information (SCI) environment (Preferred)
  • At least two years of experience in an assistant role to a Facility Security Officer, or CSSO (Preferred)

Education Level

  • HS/GED
  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred)

Salary/Compensations

  • $52,000-$58,000+/negotiable depending on qualifications
