About the Role

This position is responsible for washing all dishes, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment, and food preparation equipment. They maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas, including the line, BOH prep areas, storage, and walk-in. The role involves monitoring the dishwashing machine, cleaning and maintaining equipment, and assisting with kitchen cleaning and garbage disposal.

Responsibilities

• Wash all dishes, glassware, silverware, kitchen equipment, and food preparation equipment.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas.
• Monitor dishwashing machine to ensure proper operation.
• Clean and maintain dish machine and equipment.
• Put dishes back in designated areas.
• Assist in cleaning the kitchen, including counters, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Ensure proper garbage and trash disposal and removal.
• Assist with kitchen preparation, if applicable.
• Bus tables and reset dining areas.
• Maintain high standards of appearance and hygiene.
• Set up dish sink and sanitizer to specifications.
• Check and understand PH levels.
• Adjust dishwashing machine for water and soap.
• Inform chefs when supplies are low or equipment is not working properly.
• Fill lines with necessary utensils or dishes.
• Assist in cleaning specific kitchen equipment.
• Clean trash containers and maintain surrounding garbage area.
• Inform chefs when new trash cans are needed.
• Maintain proper garbage disposal, understanding compost/recycling/trash guidelines.
• Sweep floors at hot line, prep and salad stations.
• Check bathrooms for cleanliness and maintain stock.
• Stock paper towels and soap dispensers at handwashing sinks.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of dry stock/walk-in(s).
• Consolidate products.
• Work with shipping and receiving in stocking, organizing, and labeling deliveries.
• Prepare dining areas and kitchen for the next shift by cleaning and restocking.
• Clean machines and appliances used in the kitchen.
• Unload and store deliveries.
• Sweep and mop floors, especially after spills or breakage.
• Take out the trash and rinse garbage cans.
• Support other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or requested.
