About the Role

The Kind Clinic Clinician (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) works with clinical nurses and medical assistants to evaluate, plan, and provide patient care under the supervision of an attending physician. The ideal candidate will maintain effective communication, provide competent and courteous patient care, and stay current with clinical research.

Responsibilities

• Performs clinical procedures under direction of attending Physician and according to approved protocols
• Performs assessment, history & physical, and recommendations for patient plan of care
• Monitors patient progress
• Maintains patient medical records according to established standards
• Maintains communication with supervisory physician(s) and attending physician to review patient records and care plans
• Collaborates with attending physicians, facility staff, and other agencies to coordinate optimal care and resource utilization
• Works independently and as a team member with all levels of clinical staff
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing or Physician Assistant’s Program
• 2+ years outpatient experience as a NP or PA
• Unrestricted and valid license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Texas
• Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registrations IIIV for the purpose of writing prescriptions
• Current CPR certification
• Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations
• Active board certification appropriate to licensure is required
• Ability to express and exchange ideas via spoken word
• Hearing to perceive the nature of sound with no less than 40 db loss @ Hz, 1000 Hz, and 2000 Hz with or without correction
• Ability to perceive detailed information orally and make fine discriminations in sound
• Perform repetitive motions with wrists, hands, and fingers
• Ability to exert up to 12 pounds of force occasionally and to be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects
• Minimum standard of visual acuity with or without correction for administrative and clerical tasks, inspection, and analysis
• Ability to work and concentrate amidst distractions such as noise, conversation, and foot traffic
• Ability to handle interruptions often and move from one task to another

• Effective communication with patients, staff, and physicians
• Competent, professional, and courteous patient care
• Keeping abreast of current research and incorporating relevant findings into clinical practice
• Working knowledge of Athena electronic medical record software
• Working knowledge of healthcare insurance
• Bilingual: English and Spanish

Salary/Compensations

• $120,000 starting base salary
• $7,000 signing bonus
