About the Role
Supports the mission of People's Community Clinic by providing massage therapy services to individuals within the Integrated Pain Management Program living with chronic pain. This position works as a member of a care team to coordinate patient care and support patients and families in self-management, self-efficacy, and behavior change.
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, effective, medically informed, and trauma-informed massage therapy tailored to patients with chronic pain, musculoskeletal disorders, and complex comorbidities.
- Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including primary care providers, acupuncturists, and behavioral health specialists.
- Maintain meticulous, timely SOAP notes and clinical documentation within our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Ensure the treatment room meets all medical sanitation, safety, and infection control standards.
- Provide trauma-informed, culturally humble care to patients navigating complex life circumstances.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years of massage therapy experience, preferably in a multidisciplinary setting.
- Strong clinical reasoning, excellent time management, and proficiency with or willingness to learn digital tools/EHR software.
- Professional working proficiency or fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
- Consistent attendance and punctual session management are non-negotiable.
- Adaptability to evolving clinic workflows, shifting schedules, and the diverse linguistic or physical needs of our patients.
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to interact effectively with a diverse population.
- Active and unrestricted Massage Therapist license in the state of Texas.
