About the Role

Total Fire Protection is rapidly expanding, presenting exciting and challenging opportunities. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will play a critical role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of fire and life safety system projects. This role works in close collaboration with project managers, field teams, vendors, and clients to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing full project lifecycles across service lines.
  • Support scheduling, budget tracking, material procurement, and day-to-day operations.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review technical drawings and specifications for compliance.
  • Participate in job site visits for quality and safety assurance.
  • Maintain project records and documentation.
  • Coordinate procurement and logistics.
  • Assist with invoicing and financial tracking.
  • Identify and help mitigate project risks.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of experience in project coordination or project management.
  • Familiarity with fire and life safety systems.
  • Proficiency with project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive attitude.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites in the NY Metro area (including New Jersey).
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation to various locations.
  • Able to perform occasional physical tasks such as lifting materials, climbing ladders, or working in confined spaces.
