About the Role
Rippling is seeking a Director to lead GTM financial strategy, drive growth, and partner with Sales and Marketing leaders. This strategic role involves setting targets, identifying growth opportunities, building forecasts, and influencing capital allocation decisions in a complex, fast-moving environment. You will lead a team of finance professionals and collaborate with various departments, acting as a critical thought partner to senior leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own the GTM relationship on behalf of Finance, serving as a trusted, strategic thought partner to senior GTM and Finance leadership.
- Lead GTM target-setting by translating Rippling’s top company priorities into clear, ambitious, and achievable financial and operating goals.
- Develop accurate, driver-based forecasts that enable Rippling to operate at a public-company cadence and inform executive- and Board-level decision making.
- Build deep expertise in GTM performance and efficiency metrics—including but not limited to funnel conversion, sales productivity, unit economics—to guide strategic resource allocation.
- Design financial decision frameworks to evaluate trade-offs across growth, efficiency, and profitability, including investments in new segments, channels, geographies, pricing motions, and sales capacity.
- Drive end-to-end quarterly and annual planning by partnering closely with GTM leadership, Revenue Operations, Data Science, and other Strategic Finance teams.
- Lead recurring GTM Strategic Finance forums, including monthly business reviews, forecast reviews, and executive- and Board-level materials.
- Partner with Revenue Operations and Data Science to develop reporting that tracks performance and surfaces actionable insights for senior leaders.
- Evaluate 0 to 1 GTM initiatives through rigorous financial modeling, scenario analysis, and external research / benchmarking.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, setting a high bar for analytical rigor, ownership, and impact while coaching and developing future leaders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in strategic finance, FP&A, investment banking, or private equity, with meaningful time spent at a high-growth technology company.
- Expert-level financial modeling and analytical skills, with a demonstrated track record of owning complex operating and headcount models.
- Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, including GTM efficiency, pipeline generation, CAC payback, and cohort analysis.
- Proven ability to operate independently at a senior level, managing multiple large workstreams, setting priorities, and driving outcomes through cross-functional influence rather than authority.
- Strong people leadership experience, including building and developing high-performing teams and raising the analytical bar across an organization.
- Excellent communication and executive presence, with the ability to present clearly and credibly to C-suite and Board-level audiences.
- AI-forward mindset, leveraging AI, automation and new emerging tools to drive efficiency within Finance and organizations across the company.
- Experience in a public company or public-company–ready environment is a plus.
- Experience with financial planning tools (e.g. Anaplan), Salesforce and SQL are a plus.
