About the Role
Sage Hospitality Group is hiring an On-Call Banquet Houseperson at Hotel Van Zandt in Austin, Texas. This role is responsible for setting, maintaining, and refreshing hotel banquet meeting rooms according to sales contracts and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Ensure cleanliness and organization are completed in a timely manner.
- Assist supervisor during large functions.
- Set up all banquet and meeting rooms in a timely manner for banquet service staff.
- Perform timely and safe breakdown of meeting rooms after event completion.
- Refresh rooms, ensure water is available, clean rooms, and set for appropriate functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate with guests, other associates, and supervisor.
- Ability to assess and meet standards.
- Ability to meet standards of appearance.
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs.
- Mobility to reach all areas of responsibility, including shelves, windows, ledges, pipes, and under/around furniture.
- Continuous standing and/or walking.
- Ability to climb stairs (approximately 40 steps, 15% of a 40-hour week).
Skills
- Minimal literacy necessary.
- Ability to utilize alternate training tools.
