About the Role

The Instructional Design Support role is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance, and production of training materials. This includes ensuring all documentation is accurate, organized, and presented clearly, as well as managing the timely publication of courseware in various formats.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with, prepare for, and conduct interviews with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather courseware content.
• Copy, edit, and rewrite training documents for accuracy, grammar, clarity, and adherence to style guides.
• Provide editorial advice and expertise to clients and translation services.
• Collaborate with graphic artists and SMEs to meet design specifications.
• Recommend and implement documentation standards and publishing best practices.
• Develop, organize, and maintain an electronic document library with templates and historical documents.
• Prepare, post, and maintain information on relevant websites.
• Research and analyze e-Learning training environments and conduct needs analysis.
• Write, rewrite, edit, and ensure quality control for various learning materials.
• Assist in external environmental research to identify emerging e-Learning trends and advancements.
• Liaise with external organizations for information exchange.

Requirements

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized university with specialization in a related field, or a combination of education and work experience.
• Experience analyzing student learning needs and developing training materials.
• Experience writing and editing content for adult learners.
• Experience with template standardization, updating documents, and managing training and development resources.
• Knowledge of current adult education theories.
• Knowledge of theories, principles, and practices associated with communications, multi-media product planning, development, evaluation, and quality control.
• Knowledge of IM/IT methods, including user interface design, development, and maintenance.
• Knowledge of research and data analysis methods/techniques.
• Knowledge of project planning techniques.
• Comprehensive understanding of company policies, standards, and guidelines for developing and publishing NAV CANADA ATS Learning communications products.
• Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in editing and publishing.
• Knowledge of MS Office and desktop design/publishing software.
• Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including grammar, spelling, and composition.
• Demonstrated ability to convert complex technical information into clear, concise, plain language.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work under minimal supervision, and handle multiple concurrent tasks.
• Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
• Ability to recognize patterns, organize ideas, and visualize end products.
• Motivated self-starter with a focus on excellence, positive attitude, and service/goal orientation.
• Demonstrated initiative, judgment, reliability, discretion, decisiveness, and tact.
