About the Role

The New School is seeking one student to assist with administrative tasks, supporting the daily operations of the department office and serving as the first point of contact.

Responsibilities

  • Greet students, faculty, and visitors at the department front desk, providing courteous and professional assistance.
  • Replenish paper and toner and maintain department copiers to ensure uninterrupted operation.
  • Assist with department-sponsored events by setting up rooms, welcoming guests, and managing check-in sheets.
  • Run campus errands, including posting flyers, delivering materials and supplies, and collecting departmental mail.
  • Perform light administrative and clerical duties as needed to support daily department operations, such as photocopying and scanning books for professors.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work Study- please provide letter
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized
  • Comfortable using standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, etc.)
  • Professional communication and a collaborative attitude
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow instructions carefully
  • Ability to help with events that start at 6pm (on either M, W or R)
  • Include resume, cover letter and FWS letter confirming funding to be a FWS Student assistant with application.
