About the Role

The Asset Protection Coordinator (APC) improves the retail customer experience and mitigates company losses from external theft. This role requires strong customer service skills and experience in loss prevention and operational strategies, collaborating closely with store leadership and the Asset Protection Department. The APC monitors store activity, gathers information on theft, and focuses on customer service and theft prevention, not apprehension. A specialized CVS store uniform is required as a deterrent.

Responsibilities

  • Provides attentive, friendly customer service, including greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with locked shelves.
  • Monitors assigned store(s) for activities causing loss of CVS Pharmacy assets/products and communicates observations to Store Management.
  • Inspects high-risk product categories to detect and deter theft.
  • Ensures the use of approved asset/product protection equipment and the security labeling program.
  • Prepares External Theft reports in the Auror system and monitors feeds for intelligence on repeat offenders.
  • Provides customer service to prevent theft and reduce friction by unlocking and securing devices.
  • Reviews potential links of habitual offenders in Auror System and shares intelligence.
  • Monitors store compliance with AP related programs that prevent external theft and takes corrective action.

Requirements

  • Physical abilities to support essential functions, including standing/moving throughout the store, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, grasping, and manual dexterity for applying security tags and using keys.
  • Excellent observational skills with the ability to recall and describe detailed facts.
  • Ability to see and hear to perform observational duties, including reading small print.
  • Ability to engage and communicate well with customers and provide excellent customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including preparing and submitting theft reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Asset Protection and Store Leadership Teams.
  • Work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
