About the Role
Performs phlebotomy procedures and processes specimens safely and accurately. Delivers age-appropriate patient care and interacts professionally with patients and staff. Monitors patients for adverse reactions and responds to emergencies. Handles various lab aid, receptionist, clerical, and administrative duties.
Responsibilities
- Performs phlebotomy procedures and processes specimens.
- Delivers patient care appropriate to patient age, physical ability, and intellectual development.
- Interacts with patients, volunteers, and coworkers pleasantly and efficiently.
- Monitors patients for unexpected reactions and responds to emergency situations.
- Provides and receives constructive feedback from laboratory leadership.
- Collaborates with laboratory and hospital staff for efficient sample collection and transport.
- Assesses patient's age-specific needs and collects samples appropriately.
- Performs a variety of Lab Aid, receptionist, clerical, and administrative assistant duties.
Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent with some knowledge of medical terminology.
- Enthusiastic personality with excellent customer service and people skills.
- Data entry and typing skills required.
- Up to 6 months of directly related experience for data entry proficiency.
- Up to 6 months of on-the-job experience for proficiency.
