Core Team Leads will act as departmental subject matter experts and key representatives throughout the EMR implementation lifecycle, partnering with MEDITECH, leadership, project teams, and stakeholders to ensure departmental needs are met within the new system. They will support workflow design, decision-making, testing, training, change management, and go-live readiness.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary departmental representative and subject matter expert throughout the MEDITECH implementation.
  • Work closely with other Application Team Leaders and Core Team Leads to understand integrated processes and operational impacts across departments.
  • Develop a strong understanding of MEDITECH best practice workflows and evaluate how they align with departmental operations.
  • Identify workflow gaps and collaborate with project teams to determine appropriate solutions.
  • Ensure decision documentation is completed when deviations from MEDITECH best practices are required.
  • Support communication and management of change related to departmental workflow changes and system adoption.
  • Review, validate, and assist with testing of third-party interfaces, forms, reports, and claims.
  • Participate in data conversion activities, including mapping, testing, and validation as needed.
  • Review current departmental reporting needs and evaluate existing internal and external reports to determine future-state requirements.
  • Develop testing scenarios to support unit testing, integrated testing, and future system update testing.
  • Participate in validation of workflows, system functionality, and operational processes.
  • Develop and support departmental super user and end-user training plans.
  • Assist with training preparation, user readiness activities, and adoption of new workflows.
  • Participate in transition planning from legacy systems to the MEDITECH EMR, including cutover planning, resource scheduling, department readiness activities, and go-live support planning.
  • Collaborate with operational leaders to communicate departmental needs, concerns, and implementation requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for workflow optimization and continuous improvement following implementation.
  • Support successful adoption of the new EMR system within assigned departments.

Requirements

  • Thorough understanding of departmental policies, procedures, workflows, and hospital operational processes.
  • Understanding of how departmental activities integrate with other hospital services and workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with leaders, peers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Interest in healthcare technology and enthusiasm for using the EMR system to improve departmental and interdepartmental efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen, collaborate, and effectively communicate change.
  • Well-organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and support project activities.
  • Ability to positively influence and motivate colleagues without direct supervisory authority.
  • Ability to support organizational goals while representing departmental needs and priorities.
