About the Role

Harris Group is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on diverse industrial applications. This role involves participation in the entire project lifecycle, from proposals and design to commissioning and start-up.

Responsibilities

  • Directing control systems testing, equipment commissioning, field testing, and system acceptance, including operational readiness testing.
  • Planning, designing, programming, and upgrading PLC, DCS, HMI, and SCADA systems.
  • Supporting multi-disciplinary teams on engineering projects with a commitment to successful project delivery.
  • Developing drawings and specifications for construction, including network communication block diagrams, control panel details, wiring termination diagrams, instrument location plans, and instrument installation details.
  • Performing equipment selection, cost estimating, equipment layout, and coordination with other engineering disciplines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 3-8 years of experience in PLC programming and HMI or SCADA configuration.
  • 1 year of field experience.
  • Working knowledge of piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), wiring diagrams, control panel layouts, and motor control schematics.
  • Demonstrated ability using Ethernet and control system communication protocols.
  • Experience with Rockwell, Wonderware, and similar PLC/HMI software.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the year.
  • A registered professional engineer is preferred.
