About the Role

Milliman MedInsight is seeking a Senior Product Strategy Manager to lead product strategy and commercialization for assigned payer products and offerings. This role translates health plan customer needs, market trends, and client insights into differentiated product strategies and 12–24 month roadmaps in partnership with Technical Product Managers (TPMs), General Managers (GMs), and cross-functional leaders. The ideal candidate is a strategic product leader who combines deep payer expertise, strong commercial judgment, and market insight to identify growth opportunities and deliver innovative healthcare solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Define the strategic direction of MedInsight's payer portfolio by translating market intelligence, client insights, and business objectives into differentiated products and commercialization strategies.
  • Guide product investments from market discovery through commercialization while ensuring alignment with customer needs and business priorities.
  • Lead client discovery, competitive analysis, and market research to identify emerging opportunities and inform product strategy.
  • Define and own product strategy for payer offerings by translating market intelligence, client feedback, and business objectives into actionable 12–24 month product roadmaps.
  • Partner with General Managers and Product Leadership to evaluate market opportunities, establish strategic priorities, and support annual business planning for new products and capabilities.
  • Partner with Sales, Client Success, and Marketing to validate market opportunities, accelerate adoption, and maximize commercial performance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Prioritize product investments by evaluating market demand, competitive differentiation, commercial potential, and build-versus-partner opportunities to maximize customer value and business impact.
  • Lead market validation, product definition, business case development, and requirements to enable successful execution by Technical Product Management and Engineering teams.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI-enabled capabilities, automation, and decision-support solutions that improve product value, user experience, scalability, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the payer product subject matter expert, supporting product development, solution validation, internal enablement, client engagements, webinars, conferences, and other market-facing activities.
  • Lead commercialization efforts by partnering with Marketing, Sales, Finance, and General Managers to develop product positioning, value propositions, pricing strategies, packaging, sales enablement materials, and go-to-market plans.
  • Measure product performance through market adoption, client feedback, competitive positioning, and post-launch analytics to continuously refine product strategy and investment priorities.
  • Collaborate across Product Management, Engineering, Client Services, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Executive Leadership to align stakeholders, communicate strategic direction, resolve tradeoffs, and drive execution of key initiatives.
  • Partner with Client Services to define scalable service, support, and operating models that enable successful product adoption and long-term client success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare, Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, healthcare consulting, or commercial strategy within healthcare technology, SaaS, or analytics serving payer organizations.
  • Strong understanding of product strategy, commercialization, product development lifecycles, and portfolio planning.
  • Deep knowledge of payer operations, healthcare data, claims analytics, and health plan workflows, with the ability to translate market needs into product strategy and roadmaps.
  • Experience evaluating market opportunities, developing business cases, and prioritizing product investments using commercial and financial analysis (e.g., TAM/SAM/SOM).
  • Experience launching and commercializing enterprise SaaS or healthcare analytics solutions for payer organizations is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience using business intelligence, analytics, or data visualization tools to evaluate market opportunities, influence executive decision-making, and inform product strategy.
  • Experience with SQL is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority and drive alignment across competing priorities.
  • Strategic, collaborative, and adaptable, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare technology environment.
