About the Role

Parent Advocates support parents with children in foster care to understand and navigate the foster care system, remain hopeful, and address family challenges to achieve reunification. They empower parents through connection building and collaboration, providing options and choices for family decision-making, especially for families who have experienced adversity and trauma.

Requirements

  • Previous life experience being impacted by the child welfare system as a parent, including having had a child placed in foster care or having had a court-ordered supervision case.
  • 1+ years of professional experience as a parent advocate working within the child welfare/juvenile justice systems required.
  • Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.

Experience Level

  • 1+ years of professional experience

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or Equivalency required
  • Bachelors preferred
