About the Role
As a DSP, you will work directly with individuals with developmental/learning disabilities, providing services to help them live independently and thrive in their communities.
Responsibilities

- Medical appointments and understanding doctor’s orders
- Additional skills needed to enable the individual to access the community and remain as independent as possible
- Other instruction, services and supports as indicated by your supervisor.
Requirements
- Successful completion of First Aid, CPR, and Defensive Driving upon hire is required.
- Valid New York State Driver’s License in good standing and use of personal vehicle for transporting individuals receiving services.
Skills
- Good time management skills
- Ability and desire to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to work 1-1 with an individual receiving services
- Moderate level of written and oral communication skills
- High level of interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of behavioral techniques and developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of computer and ability to utilize various software programs
