About the Role

The Assistant Manager supports the execution of the Associate General Manager and/or General Manager's strategy to deliver results through promotions, special events, and fan engagement at assigned retail locations. They lead back-of-house operations, coach and develop teams, and analyze key metrics and P&L to identify opportunities and drive performance. The Assistant Manager delivers business and fan impact through BOLD leadership and execution excellence, leveraging data, automation, and AI-enabled insights.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Associate General Manager and/or General Manager to recruit, build, and sustain a high-performing team that delivers an outstanding fan experience.
  • Execute clear communication of company initiatives, translating objectives into team priorities and ensuring alignment across the retail location.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, performance management, and development for all employees, including non-exempt staff.
  • Assess internal talent and recommend succession plans to support a culture of high performance and engagement.
  • Demonstrate and maintain the highest levels of fan experience at every touchpoint within the retail location.
  • Leverage knowledge of the local fan base to ensure actions and merchandising decisions support the needs of the marketplace.
  • Incorporate Fanatics values into daily operational planning to deliver a consistent and elevated fan experience.
  • Execute promotions and special events that deepen fan engagement and drive traffic and conversion.
  • Analyze daily operations, business metrics, and P&L to identify opportunities and develop initiatives that improve performance.
  • Quickly adapt and deliver solutions in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while effectively leading through change.
  • Apply retail finance knowledge, including P&L management, to inform decision-making and surface actionable insights.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of in-store operations by identifying and implementing best practices.
  • Drive back-of-house operations and lead stockroom organization to ensure efficiency and inventory accuracy.
  • Execute Manager on Duty responsibilities as appropriate, maintaining accountability for all aspects of store operations during assigned shifts.
  • Work a rotating full-time schedule including days, nights, weekends, extended hours on game days and during events to meet the demands of the business.
  • Travel as required to In-Venue Retail sites, hot markets, and other business needs as assigned.
  • Apply AI and technology to improve efficiency, quality, and outcomes.
  • Use data and digital tools to inform decisions and enhance performance.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and adaptability in adopting new technologies and ways of working.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum two or more years of retail management experience, preferably in a flagship store or high-profile retail environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify key business metrics and develop plans to drive measurable results, including experience with retail finance and P&L management.
  • Experience managing a team of non-exempt employees, with strong coaching, performance management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction, assign tasks, and deliver follow-up to all levels of employees.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and retail point-of-sale systems.
  • Ability to create an inclusive environment that fosters development, supports constructive conflict resolution, and adheres to company policies, state and/or local laws, and applicable union activity.
  • The highest level of integrity and ethics, both professional and personal, with a collaborative approach and strong influencing skills.
