About the Role

The Compliance Associate supports RPM Living’s regulatory compliance program across property operations. This role assists with monitoring regulatory developments, maintaining compliance records, supporting audits and compliance reviews, coordinating broker licensing activities, and tracking compliance-related obligations. The Compliance Associate partners closely with Compliance Manager(s) to help identify compliance requirements, maintain documentation, and support regulatory adherence across the portfolio. This position focuses on regulatory compliance and real estate broker licensing and is not related to affordable housing compliance programs.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate broker license renewals, registrations, and continuing education tracking.
  • Maintain records for designated brokers, branch offices, and jurisdiction-specific licensing requirements.
  • Prepare and coordinate filings, sponsorship changes, business registrations, and entity updates with regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor license expiration dates and proactively manage renewal workflows.
  • Support responses to licensing audits, examinations, and information requests from regulatory authorities.
  • Assist with maintaining licensing databases, reporting tools, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Track regulatory and legislative changes that may impact multifamily operations, including property management, leasing, resident screening, privacy, consumer protection, and related business activities.
  • Assist with the development of compliance alerts, guidance documents, and implementation plans for regulatory changes.
  • Assist with investigating potential compliance issues and coordinate resolution activities.
  • Assist with compliance audits, internal reviews, risk assessments, and corrective action follow-up.
  • Maintain compliance calendars and reporting related to licenses, registrations, filings, training, and certifications.
  • Support the development, revision, distribution, and organization of compliance policies, procedures, and guidance materials.
  • Maintain records and documentation supporting compliance initiatives and regulatory obligations.
  • Track compliance activities, project milestones, and implementation progress for regulatory initiatives.
  • Coordinate policy revisions, training efforts, and communications.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for the company's privacy compliance program, including intake and coordination of privacy-related requests, maintenance of compliance records, and support for privacy initiatives and regulatory obligations.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance principles and business licensing requirements.
  • Skilled in maintaining attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness of compliance records.
  • Skilled in organization & documentation management, including maintaining accurate records and tracking compliance activities.
  • Skilled in providing audit & compliance support.
  • Ability to apply problem-solving skills & critical thinking to identify compliance issues and support effective resolutions.
  • Knowledge of risk awareness principles and the ability to recognize potential compliance risk.
  • Skilled in collaboration & relationship building with internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Skilled in project coordination, including managing multiple priorities, deadlines, and compliance initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and compliance tracking systems.
  • Ability to exercise professional judgment & maintain integrity when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • May be required to sit for extended periods of time.
  • May occasionally be required to lift or carry items such as files or office supplies weighing up to 15 pounds.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to read documents, computer screens and data.
  • Must be able to hear and understand verbal communications in person and over the phone or computer.
  • Employment with RPM Living is contingent upon successful completion of a background check as local and federal state requires.
  • A valid driver’s license is preferred; candidates without a license will be provided a liability waiver.

Experience Level

Education Level

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, Compliance, Risk Management, Public Administration, or related field preferred. Experience may substitute for education.
